Foundations of Leadership

Module 3

Preparation for Module 3

We look forward to seeing you again on the next module. There were a number of things to do following Module 2 to continue your leadership development journey. Please check the full list, but the specific ones we would like you to be ready to share in Module 3 are:

  • A 60 second report back on how you got on with implementing your personal action plan from Module 2. You may have a longer discussion on this with your Peer Coach before the module, but this short report back will be for others as well.

  • Your personal ‘What Inspires Me’ communication. Do practice this out loud before coming to the module, so you give yourself the best chance to give us as full a sense of possible of what inspires you, within the two minute limit.

  • Watch our video on the Change Curve. It’s about 5 minutes long, and in it our colleague Ian outlines a model that we will refer to from day 1 in Module 3.

  • We will also revisit your Live Business Challenge in the module, in the context of leading change, so do be ready to update your two colleagues you were in a group with on your progress since Module 2. If that business challenge is no longer live, please bring another one you are currently working on.

  • Module 3 is designed around the Leadership Capabilities of Inspire, Improvise and Implement in the Vital Leader Framework. These are explored in Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the book, The Vital Leader, which you can download as a PDF The Vital Leader. As in previous modules we will be not be working through the chapters explicitly in the session, but you can read them for further stimulus or thinking around these three key elements.

Of course, if you have any questions about this preparation, or anything else to do with the programme please contact Debs DeborahA@maynardleigh.co.uk and Phil Philp@maynardleigh.co.uk

Following Module 3

Congratulations! You have now completed the three modules of the programme, and we look forward to seeing you again at the Completion Event on the 21st June. That will be an opportunity to reflect on the impact of putting your learning into action over the coming weeks, as well as to review your learning journey of the last six months. We will also use it to look forward, and to focus on your ongoing development as a leader in the months and years ahead.

So below are some suggestions of what you can do between now and then to the personal insights and learnings you have had through the programme.
